The 2016 Ford Focus is a true all around car. AND, it comes with a Drift
Mode!
Starting with the design, the look
is pretty awesome, straightforward and anything but overdone. Nothing is
extra on the new Focus; no scoops, extra grille openings, pseudo aero
devices, flaps and as you can see everything is functional.
The RS shape took a lot of time and
effort on a computer, to the tune of 2,000+ hours. However, this car is
one of the few on the road that offers true zero lift on both rear and
front axles. The effort has paid off.
The 2016 Ford Focus RS has a 2.3
liter 4 under the hood also available in the Mustang. Nevertheless,
compared to a Mustang, this twin-scroll single turbo is larger and lighter
and the intercooler is bigger. Thus, this one produces 350 Horsepower and
350 lb-ft of torque. That means 62 mph in 4.7 seconds, reaching a top
speed of 165 mph.
While discussing the capabilities of
the new 2016 Focus RS can go on and on, its best to point out that one
thing it has that the other hot hatchbacks don't - a mode that gives the
car the ability to drift on command. Watch the included videos to see for
yourself.
