National Mustang Day celebration in the Motor City

Saturday, April 15th, the Motor City will celebrate National Mustang Day with a meet that starts at the Ford World Headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan, and ends at the renowned Mike Berardi Collection.

The event is being organized by the Mustang Owners Club of Southeastern Michigan (MOCSEM), the Shelby American Automobile Club – Motor City Region (SAAC-MCR), the Mustang Club of Mid Michigan, and the West Michigan Mustang Club. Mustang fans and owners are invited to meet up at 9am for photos at Ford’s World Headquarters building before making their way to Gateway Classic Cars by 9:30.

At a quarter to 11, the group will depart for the Automotive Hall of Fame, before heading out to the Mike Berardi Mustang Collection at noon.

Now technically, National Mustang Day falls on April 17th – the day that the original Ford Mustang was first shown at the 1964 World’s Fair. But this year, April 17th falls on a Monday, so assuming that you can’t take the day off work, Saturday, April 15th is the next-best thing.

If the weather is favorable, this should be quite a good event to help kick off the summer car show season.
