New York World's Fair Mustangs

Found in a South Georgia salvage yard in 1980 - this is 5F08F100006 - one of 12 pre-production Mustangs ordered and built for the 1964 portion of the New York World's Fair. They were built for Walt Disney's Magic Skyway in a variety of colors.

After they rolled off the Dearborn, Michigan assembly line, they were shipped over to Carron & Company to be prepped for the Skyway - then shipped to New York in enclosed trucks.

Upon completion of the 1964 portion of the Fair, they were removed from the Skyway and shipped back to Detroit where they were cleaned up and sold off the Ford Employee Resale Lot. I believe only two of these cars survive - this one and 100004 in Pennsylvania. It is unknown to me where 100006 is today. It seems to have gone into hiding after a long restoration effort by Mustang Central in Georgia. It was sold and disappeared.

These images were taken by the late Ed White, who unearthed this car in 1980. He hauled this car home where it was placed in a barn untouched for years. I do know the barn burned and the car eventually wound up at Mustang Central to be restored. The car was so far gone from rust to where there wasn't much left to save. It concerns me what is happening to this car now.

Does anyone know where it is and what's being done with it?

These 12 pre-production cars have a date code of "05C" and DSO codes of 840027 indicating Home Office Reserve. All were 260-2V V-8 cars with automatics.
