Fords Forever   For the Enthusiast

Carroll Shelby's personal car collection going to auction in June 2018

About a hundred years of car history is going up for auction through Bonham’s soon, with the offering of Carroll Shelby’s personal collection. Perhaps most known for his work on the Shelby Cobra, Mustang, and Ford, Shelby was not just an innovative designer, but also an entrepreneur who enjoyed racing the cars he built. His 24 car collection reflects his careers with both Ford and Dodge, as well as his appreciation for high performance racing. Though the full list has yet to be revealed, among those included are a 1969 Mustang GT500, 2011 Shelby Cobra CSX 8027, Shelby-tuned Dodge Charger, Panteras, Dakotas, as well as a 1935 Chrysler Airflow sedan.

Few names resonate in the automotive world like Carroll Shelby. For many, it’s a brand name they aspire to call their own one day. Now, in truly rare form, Shelby fans can get their hands on one of his personal rides from the collection via this summer’s Greenwich Concours d’Elegance in Greenwich, CT.

It’s all part of an exclusive sale of 24 cars once owned by the legendary man himself. The event – a full estate sale of the former racing superstar – is put on in conjunction with Bonhams and is slated to include iconic collectible rides such as a Dodge Shelby Charger prototype, 2011 Shelby Cobra CSX 8027, a ’69 Shelby GT 500 and much more. Sale initiates on June 3rd, 2018.

Can you envision Carroll driving this around with the top down?
