Click on an image below to enlarge: By 1975, the car was in rather poor
condition as the result of many seasons on the racing track and required a
complete restoration. It took some time but the work was eventually
completed with the help of Shelby American. First shown in public
following the restoration in 1996, it was soon after acquired by American
collector Robson Walton. He fielded the car in the 2000 Tour Auto before
selling it to the current, Swiss owner in 2003. At that time, it was
fitted with a very hot and not quite period correct engine. This has been
rectified in 2015 when the engine was brought back to its original
configuration to make it eligible for historic racing. |
