October 21, 2017 -- Michigan International Speedway -- Planning car shows always comes with a risk of Mother Nature ruining your day. On this day, she was on her best behavior.

When William Deary, CEO of The Carroll Collection in Jackson, Michigan was made known when he would be taking delivery of his 2017 Ford GT Supercar, he had an idea to make a big event of it for many Ford enthusiasts to enjoy. William got a hold of the Mustang Owner's Club of S.E. Michigan and the Motor City Region of SAAC and organized a car show, open track and Ford GT unveiling.

This event was very well attended, with more than 500 show quality cars in attendance. Most if not all of the drivers of these vehicles signed up for the chance to drive their car on the oval track. The car clubs provided the workers needed to organize the show and get everyone registered for track activities.

First order of business, was to unleash the beast. Everyone gathered around the car carrier in the pit lane. As the door / car ramp lowered from the back of the semi trailer, everyone's anticipation turned to smiles and laughter as a miniature version of the Ford GT, driven by I can assume was William's Grandson, drove off the ramp and onto pit lane. A very cute moment.

Shortly after, we heard the engine of the Ford GT roar to life and the car drove down the ramp. William took delivery of the car, along with a folder that included some photographs of the car being built on the assembly line. A question and answer session followed as one of the Engineers from Ford talked about the Ford GT.

After the questions, William climbed into his new car and drove down pit lane to meet up with the Pace Car. Immediately following were a collection of Ford GTs and vintage and current racing cars. The group then went out on track emitting the sweet sounds of open exhausts to the thrill of the spectators.

As the day progressed, groups of cars made their way onto the MIS oval to get their track time in. Also, with there being a car show as part of this event, trophies were passed out to the winners at the end of the day.
